March 31 (ChainDD) Daosheng Tang, senior executive vice president of Tencent Group and CEO of Tencent Cloud and Intelligence industry group, told reporters at the Boao Forum today that Tencent was developing a chatbot similar to ChatGPT.

As for whether the chatbot will integrate with QQ and Wechat, or provide services to B-end users through Tencent Cloud, Tang replied, "it will have both."

At present, tech companies such as Microsoft, Byte Dance, Meta have all downsized their VR/XR teams, and the craze for the full reality Internet and metaverse seems to be fading.

"XR is just one form of the metaverse," Tang said, "there are many different applications for it, not just wearing a helmet over your eyes."
